Does anyone had tummy tuck operation to remove fat/skin accumulated by pregnancy?

Question by Jerome: Does anyone had tummy tuck operation to remove fat/skin accumulated by pregnancy?
Could you tell me please, how much did it cost and where the clinic is located?

I haven’t but I know someone who had it after being stretched to Bu**ery after twins! She had an abdomen that resembled a walnut – very loose & wrinkly skin – very disfiguring. She had the treatment on the NHS as her situation was soooo bad. Took quite a bit of recovery though – not an operation to be undertaken lightly.

Can I get a tummy/leg/arm tuck on the NHS?

Question by Caroline: Can I get a tummy/leg/arm tuck on the NHS?
If I have excess skin after my weight loss? I am going private for a gastric band as I’m not quite fat enough for the NHS. But no way would I be able to afford anything to be tucked afterwards. Can this be done on the NHS after a weight loss if needed?

Thanks

xxx
Harry and Sammie can sod off anyways. I’m not a smoker or a big drinker so not gonna cost that way. And I pay my taxes towards the NHS. By loosing this weight I am saving money for the NHS in the future. Why shouldn’t I get help if needed?
I’m doing something to lose weight and its not a case of being greedy Sammy. You really do seem quite ignorant.
Lilly B is also quite clearly rather ignorant.

Will a laproscopy vaginal hysterectomy ruin my tummy tuck I had done 2 years ago?

Question by Lee: Will a laproscopy vaginal hysterectomy ruin my tummy tuck I had done 2 years ago?

I have had numerous abdominal surgeries after my last child due to ignored infection, tummy tuck was done for medical reasons, then I had a tubal ligation, now they want to to whats called a LAVH Laproscopic abdominal vaginal hysterectomy, I was hoping it wont ruin my tummy tuck not to be shallow I just love I dont have a tummy anymore, thank you for giving me advice to Merry Christmas!
paperwork says Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy.

Best answer:

Answer by Haza
I don’t think this is the right terminology for the surgery you’re considering. A ‘laproscopy’ involves entering through the abdomen where as a ‘vaginal hysterectomy’ involves entering through the vagina. I wouldn’t have thought a hysterectomy would involve both of these procedures. It’s probably best to speak to your consultant for more information involving the different surgeries available. You’ll get the best answer from them.

Excess fat/”redundant tissue”(?) – lipo/tummy tuck to get it removed, what’s the rules on age you have to be?

Question by Aquatic Retard: Excess fat/”redundant tissue”(?) – lipo/tummy tuck to get it removed, what’s the rules on age you have to be?
I am 17……………

I have some serious issues with weight at the moment. I got to a high weight of 286. Now I’m about 164 (it’s been fluctuating a bit, but steady). I want it lower but am struggling to get it down at the moment.

I’m going to ask the doctor at what weight I would need to be for it to be removed if possible – and I DO have a decent argument.

I have a LOT of excess skin, because I had a high BMI. I have an eating disorder, therefore, I am severely unhappy with my weight. As long as that excess skin is there, I’m gonna feel the need to keep on losing really, I do want to get to a low weight and then get it sorted but I have to ask the doctor about what weight I should be etc.

My point is, because of my eating disorder would it be maybe possible for me to be an exceptional case and have the excess skin removed at the age of 17? I really doubt it, I know. And I also heard you have to be at the same weight for a year before they let you have surgery or something? I don’t know.. it doesn’t seem all that good for me, anyone with any info?!

Additional Details
I’m 5’7, at the moment, and 164 for this is overweight by about 5-6 lbs, technically. I see this, and the excess skin everytime I look in the mirror, even through my clothes it does seem to make me look a lot bigger and clothes don’t fit right. I seem to be somewhat.. disproportionate. And I hate it!

You may need professional help in the form of a psychologist to determine the root cause of your eating disorder which you have not stated what disorder you are suffering from. As with most successful treatments it is much more effective to treat the cause and not just bandaid the syptoms. You really need to spend some serious time thinking about your lifestyle and direction you want your life to go in. This may seem hard but will be well worth the time and effort you put into it. Set some long and short term goals which will give you something to strive towards. The self esteem and sense of achievement you will feel as you reach and pass each goal will give you a tremendous feeling. Remember consistency and don’t give up. Good luck!

Can Or Have You Ever Had A Tummy Tuck On The Nhs?

Question by Fee: Can Or Have You Ever Had A Tummy Tuck On The Nhs?
I’m 22, yes I know, too young. I had my little boy when I was 17 and I went from a size 8 (8st 5) to a size 20 (15st 7)when I came out the hospital. I had to have an emergency c-section as I was in full labour for 23 hours only 1 cm dilated. Anyway, after a mix of me gaining so much weight and the section, and then coming back down to a size 8(8st 9) I have ended up with a really saggy belly, I lost the weight over 3 years. I mean, I didn’t have a perfect flat stomach before I was pregnant, but it wasn’t like this. I try to do situps and excerises but my stomach aches for days after even 10 situps. Its really getting me down as I split from my sons dad and have met a new man who I’d love to be confident with, but can’t. He says I’m perfect the way I am, but I just get so embarrassed. I feel like I’m horrible, I mean if I can’t look at me in the mirror how can anyone else? I thought it would’ve sorted itself out, but its not at all, my belly button is like a bloomin cave, it goes in for miles, and my section scar is lopsided so one half my stomach hangs lower than the other. I wouldn’t even say theres that much fat on my stomach, just saggy wrinky folds all over the place. It really gets me down, but I totally can’t afford to get it done privately, as my now partner is having to pay alot of money in courtrooms to get access to his son, and we are struggling to pay that! I know it sounds silly but I’m just looking for advice from anyone, if they have ever had one done on nhs? what is the criteria? Or can it even be considered? Thanks.
By the way, I am finished having children.

oh, i know how you feel. i also have the excessive skin on my stomach after my c-section(s). it’s actually called a C-section overhang.
i am in Ireland and her the health service won’t pay for a tummy tuck, but i’m pretty sure (from previous research when i wanted to have my own tummy tucked) that the NHS in brittain will pay for it if you have kept the weight off for 5 years and you get a psychologists report to state that it is affecting your emotional well-being. the best thing you can do is go to your GP and ask what the exact details are.

Question by mummyvicky: how do i get a tummy tuck on the nhs?
im 24 and 4 years ago i lost just over 10stone and went from 20 stone to just over nine but i was left with a horrible saggy belly that’s got a over hand which is foul it Absolutely repulses me,ive also got horrible stretched arm at the top which are all saggy and my boobs are horrendous from going from a 42f to a 34b. also i have baggy skin at the top of my legs which is horrible and i just look a total car crash wreck. do you think i would be able to get anything done on th NhS. ive done all the exercising used all the creams but nothings worked i had a baby a year ago and im now back to my pre pregnancy weight but i feel like i could become obsessed with loosing weight as im covered in all this extra weight in skin so i never feel the size i am. i cant go swimming with my little girl and i cant bear to get into a bikini on holiday as i feel i look a freak and i think this is so sad when i have put so much hard work in to loose all this weight but i cant afford to go private and get all this work done :(

Targetted weight reduction is quite difficult, some would state impossible, nevertheless I melted away 2 inches from my waistline by following the tips and tricks on the website in the box below. Give it a try, their advice is very down to earth!
