Question to all those out there with false teeth?

Question by Clare: Question to all those out there with false teeth?
Im 20, have really bad teeth which cause me a lot of pain. Have loads of fillings.

I wear a partial denture for 1 of my front teeth which had to be pulled out.

Tonight i managed to snap the side off one of my teeth without realising.
Im just fed up of my teeth, i want to go to the dentist and say pull them all out and give me false teeth. Everything i eat hurts my teeth, crunchy things hurt, cold things hurt, hot things hurt.

If you have false teeth wot would you say are the advantages and disadvantages of them?

It is a shame at age 20 to have to have false teeth. You should be aware that you will have problems with them also. Think of them as you would having an artificial arm. It is better than no arm, but will never function nearly as well as your own arm did. The upper is easier to get used to and fits with suction. The lower just floats around and the tongue and floor of the mouth is constantly working against it. That is why it is always much better to save some teeth on the lower to clasp to and help make it more stable. If that can’t be done, perhaps placing a couple of implants that the lower can attach to would also be great. (You can place implants on the upper and do the same thing, but if you were to make a choice, the lower should be the most important). You will have to learn talking and new ways to eat with them. They also will periodically have to be relined to make them fit better as your gums change with time. I wish you good luck and it’s too bad you have had to come to this.

A question about male doctors examining women?

Question by Love Never Dies: A question about male doctors examining women?
Why is it that many women have stooped so low to allow a man to check them out in such an intimate way? This is something that has always sickened me, especially when my 16 year old girlfriend had to be examined by a male doctor. Think about it, a male gynecologist feeling your breats, sticking his fingers as deep as possible and feeling the back, and then taking a nice long look inside. Then he smiles and says, “Put your clothes back on and clean yourself up. Next”

Though he may not express it, he will definetly enjoy it. Men are especially attracted to the female body. Wearing a white cloak with rubber gloves won’t take the “man” out of him. I just think that it’s very disrespectful to a woman’s boyfriend or husband, seriously. Some men don’t care but many others do. It’s very normal and acceptable for a man to feel upset about his woman being checked out by another man. If women can’t respect that then they are the ones that have issues. This kind of stuff can really come back and haunt a man. It did me with my girlfriend.

I usually get some pitiful and absurd replies from women whenever I bring this up. Some women say that “They have seen it all before, their just doing their job” Oh, so I guess that makes it morally right. Forget how your boyfriend or husband feels. And if a husband or boyfriend thinks this is fine then something is very wrong in his mind. Men who look at naked women on the internet can do it every day and not get bored.

Some women give another weak argument by saying, “But a woman doctor could be a lesbo” Oh please, you know that is a phony-baloney excuse. You know that is pig slop. Even if on the rare occasion the doctor was a lesbo, a woman’s mind still isn’t wired the same way as a man’s mind. I get some very pitiful excuses but I think it’s sad how women have stooped so low to allow male doctor’s to do this. But then again, nearly anything is acceptable in our world today.

I need urgent help, girls please, could you answer my question, why my period hasn’t come back?

Question by Camelia: I need urgent help, girls please, could you answer my question, why my period hasn’t come back?
My doctor put me on the pill because of horrible period pain, but I had to stop taking it after 5 months, the side effects were a real problem for my body so the doctor told me to stop taking the pill anymore. I am 30 years old and have never taken contraceptives before; this was the first and last time; it has been now 7 months since i am no longer on the pill and my period still hasn’t come back, I have just a very light spotting which I cannot call period, please girls if any of you has experienced this, I just want my normal period to come back, it wasn’t light or heavy before being on the pill, it was normal flow, and I just want it back; since I have no period anymore, I feel headaches and very fainted with no strength in my body; I just want to know why my period stopped completely since I started the pill and why it hasn’t come back even now after 7 months from stopping taking the pill; I need an urgent response, what are these contraceptive pills doing to my body? Had I known, I would have never taken the pill from the beginning. In 4 days time I have an appointment with a gynecologist, I want an explanation from them.
Before taking the pills, I was just fine.

Maybe it is just the bill. When I came off the pill it took 5 months to get my periods back. And even then I was spotting each month. Like you described.

Question for rip-off dentists only?

Question by Montgomery B: Question for rip-off dentists only?
I cracked my top plate and took it to a dentist who kept it for four days and charged me £65.
Later, I cracked it again and took it to a denture repairer who returned it one hour later with a steel insertion to ensure it could not happen again – and charged me only £15.
Why the big difference??

Question by rosemaya: this is a personal question for girls. please help! :S?
hi, for the past few years i have had this weird problem. i keep getting a little cut on my vagina, the same size and in the same place. it’s almost as if it heals for a couple of weeks then just opens again of it’s own accord! it hurts a little bit (obviously) but not too majorly, my question is this… how did i get it in the first place?! im certainly not doing anything to myself to get a cut and i literally have no idea why i have it. at first i even thought i might have been date raped or something crazy just cause it flummoxed me so much, but now when it appears again i am just used to it!

does anyone have any experience of this or know what it is? im not going to do to a gynecologist cause i literally COULDNT. i know that’s stupid but im only 19 so i have a couple of years before i have to work up the courage for a smear and right now i dont have the guts.

any insight would be great! it’s not a huge issue, just a very confusing one!
the cut is on the inner labia

A question for women about male doctors?

Question by Rooper: A question for women about male doctors?
I just wanted peoples opinions on this. Please read to the end before you answer. I know it’s quite long but please read to the end, cheers. Many people agree with me on this topic, and many disagree. Basically I think it is morally wrong for a male doctor to examine a woman with pelvic exams etc. I will explain.

When my girlfriend had to be examined by a male it kind of made me feel sick, to think that another male was doing very intimate exams on her. Many other men agree with me on this. Morally I think it’s wrong. But we have become a society of acceptance. Anything goes really. The end justifies the means.

Men are men. Putting on a white cloak and rubber gloves does not make you immune from perversion. It’s nature for men to be especially attracted to the female body. A male doctor may act professional but you can’t read his mind. Some women don’t actually care if the doctor gets aroused but I think that is quite disturbing. But for those women who think most male doctors are immune from this kind of thing because they have qualifications, please read what this doctor called Mark wrote:

“My considered opinion, after hearing serveral of my male colleagues talking informally about their practices in gynecology, is that men should not be gynecologists. Period. I simply don’t feel that a man can have the proper frame of mind to care for women in such an intimate setting, and despite all the talk of, “this is what they’re trained for,” etc, I hear their “locker-room talk” and I just think that gynecologic practice should be restricted to women.”

This is coming from a doctor. You can accuse him of being a liar but just put your thinking cap on for a moment. It’s human nature for men to get very aroused by an attractive woman when doing these kind of exam’s. You have been taught that because he’s a doctor everything is alright. If you think that most gynecologists are not viewing you sexually, you are kidding yourself. Things get said behind closed doors that you women don’t know about. Of course they will act all nice and professional, but for them not to get aroused by this, they are fighting against nature. I don’t buy it.

Now I don’t want to preach to people and I know what I have said may seem strange to some people, but that is because this world is not of God. For the longest of time it was the mid wives that delivered the babies, not males. So what happened? It started when man decided to set himself up as a god besides God. He slightly violated the laws and commandments of God until he moved them almost utterly. Now in the 21st century God has been extracted from the Educational system, work, etc. Society is degenerate.

It is wrong for a man to look upon another man’s wife naked. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Any woman that doesn’t think so cannot be in the mind of God. You have been taught he’s a doctor therefore it’s ok. Anytime a woman is placed in a position that she feels uneasy with a man checking her private parts, that is her inner spirit conversing with her suggesting to her that this is not right. Yes I am a Christian, but even before I was a Christian I felt strongly towards this, and many other men feel the same. For another man, doctor or no doctor, to examine another man’s wife or girlfriend is morally wrong.

And please don’t use the excuse about lesbian female doctors. Maybe you will get 1 in a hundred or even 1 in a thousand. And even if the female doctor is a lesbian, a woman does not get sexually aroused as quick as what men do. Men are much more likely to be perverts than women due to their testosterone nature. So please, don’t use lesbian doctors as an excuse because it just won’t hold up.

Now I want to make it clear that I respect doctors and think they do a great job. But when it comes to intimate exam’s I think it is very morally wrong for a male to examine a woman. They are not immune from getting sexually aroused no matter how much they have been trained, and like some doctor’s have said, they have heard what some doctors talk about in their “locker-room talk” Male doctors are human, and we should go back to how it has been for the last few thousand years, women being examined by females, not the other way around.

Dude seriously let this go. You’ve already asked it a million times. there are bigger moral issues in the world than the fact that male doctors are examining female patients.

You’ve already been to the doctor… let them run their tests and tell you what is going on. It could be totally benign. Don’t worry about it until you hear the results.

Medical Question: Coil, “Copper T”?

Question by popc: Medical Question: Coil, “Copper T”?
I had a Copper T inserted into me after my son was born 5 years ago.
I was wondering, How long could I have it in. I have also gone to see 2 GP’S whom said that they are unable to remove it. As they said i need to go to a Gynecologist or hospital.

What I dont understand that a GP put it in South Africa, and here in Ireland they cant. Any ideas??
Can it damage me, if i leave it in for longer than 5 years.

Well, of course I don`t want to `scare` you and also I am no expert but…..

My wife had one of those put in year`s ago (she is dead now). And she left it in for yonks – finally – in an emergency (pains etc) she had to have it removed surgically. Apparently it had embedded itself in the flesh (I assume the flesh had grown around it). And it was not a very pleasant operation either.
I hope this does not alarm you too much, but when it comes to medical matters you need to know the truth.
I`m surprised they still fitted the copper ones even 5 years ago, as there are now other safer materials.

New partial denture question?

Question by zakiit: New partial denture question?
This afternoon I got a new partial upper denture and being the first time I have had one, I have some questions. I tried asking the dentist who is very uncommuncative and generally not a nice person so will be looking for a new dentist in due course.

My question is, is there a best way to remove them for cleaning?

Also will I lose the hiss that I have suddenly developed?

And are there any tips anyone has on how to learn to eat and speak again? They are quite comfortable, but of course I am aware of them and am worried that they might drop down which would be embarrassing.

The leaflet I was given just mentioned soaking them with a denture tablet for 20 minutes, but would it be okay for them to be soaked overnight?

Sorry for all the questions, but if the dentist will not answer I have to ask somewhere! Thanks in anticipation. She is very unsympathetic even though I lost several teeth due to having stomach problems which caused frequent vomiting and the acid eroded them. Thankfully that is sorted now.
Kernow Lady – I nearly lost the plate laughing at the vision evoked by your husband fixing your teeth in the shed!! Haven’t laughed so much in ages! Have managed to keep them in until 11pm, they’re now in their bath with a fizzy tablet and warm water!

you can soak them for as long as you like or clean them with dentucream which takes few min. at first i would not take them out for long periods until you are used to them. Suck lots of boiled sweets this helps to settle them in ,i keep mine in to sleep
