Some teeth advice please.?

Question by Clare: Some teeth advice please.?
Im 20. I’ve never really had good teeth, when I was young my mum nagged and nagged me to look after my teeth, which had the opposite effect!

About 6 months ago one of my top front teeth was badly decayed and split in half, I was supposed to have a root canal and have it crowned but when my dentist tried to root canal it he said the decay had gone too far up the root or something so I ended up having it pulled out and getting a partial denture instead.

I constantly get pain with my teeth. I think every single one of my teeth has a filling in it, more than 1 in some of them. They’re very sensitive and I can barely eat anything without pain. I get really bad toothache every few months, its just come on again today, no amount of pain killers helps. It keeps me awake all night. I think its an abscess, I get them a lot.

What im thinking of doing is going to the dentist and saying pull them all out, or at least just the top ones.

A few days ago the side broke off of one of my top canine teeth. Also the 2 smaller top ones at the side of the very front ones need to have root canals and possibly be crowned.

I know people say to keep your natural teeth as long as possible, but when they’re in such bad condition, need a lot of work, and are causing so much pain surely getting a denture would benefit me. Advice please…

That’s really unfortunate, especially as you’re so young. I would really advise you to keep your natural teeth for as long as possible, and immediately seek help from a dentist. Your best option might be to get porcelain veneers but they can be extremely expensive..but I suppose it’s the price you pay for not looking after your teeth :(
Your only other option would be dentures, but it will affect your confidance for the rest of your life, as well as your relationships etc. Consider saving up for veneers x

Someone please please help i cant take this anymore???

Question by TTC for baby no 1! x: Someone please please help i cant take this anymore???
The past few years have been hell for me. I basically have to live in pads, i get water infections all time. I had severe pelvic pain and had to stay in hospital, had a scan to find out i had a double uterus….
BUT no one can actually tell me what these problems are, ive had all swabs done, blood tests, scans, being seen by a gynecologist and NOTHING. why else would i be having discharge so much????? it can be anything from green to brown colour from no odour to a foul odour. Obviously signs of infections etc but all tests ive had done signalled no problem! and I still dont know why i had severe pain!
Recently also i bled inbewteen my periods :(
I just want to feel clean and not have to wear pads most of the time

This is really getting me VERY depressed :( Im only 18 and i cant keep living this way :(

Im sexually active and before i was i still got problems but hardly as much!

Well. To help find out what is going on. I would start by abstaining from sex. if the problem slows then it has something to do with sex. Make sure all STDs have been checked – both pap smear and blood. Then I would ask for an Xray. Always always get a second or sometimes a third opinion. If you are in a smaller city you may want to go to a doctor in the closest bigger city near you.

Vulvodynia – Sufferers and Information Please?

Question by meiow: Vulvodynia – Sufferers and Information Please?
I’ve had pain ‘down there’ since May, and just been diagnosed with Vulvodynia, it’s really upset me, as I was sent to a Dermatologist, because 3 Gynaecologists thought i had a skin problem! How does that work! The dermatologist said I was completely normal and it was Vulvodynia. I’ve been prescribed an anti-histamine and Lidocaine anaesthetic now, but I’m not convinced, 3 people said there was something wrong, but now I’ve been told there isn’t.

t’s really upsetting me, I feel like a freak. And they don’t know how long it’ll take to get better. I’ve always found intercourse really painful, even before noticing the skin problem which was ‘normal’ even though i was sent to a STI clinic and had several swabs.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or able to offer their experiences with Vulvodynia.

Many Thanks

I have been dealing with vulvodynia for nearly 10 years as far as an official diagnosis.

I have had issues with pain in that area as a result of things like panties and pants but found that Lidocaine ointment and Lidocaine Gel can be of help.

If you would like to talk some more about this please feel free to e-mail me off site any time.

I need urgent help, girls please, could you answer my question, why my period hasn’t come back?

Question by Camelia: I need urgent help, girls please, could you answer my question, why my period hasn’t come back?
My doctor put me on the pill because of horrible period pain, but I had to stop taking it after 5 months, the side effects were a real problem for my body so the doctor told me to stop taking the pill anymore. I am 30 years old and have never taken contraceptives before; this was the first and last time; it has been now 7 months since i am no longer on the pill and my period still hasn’t come back, I have just a very light spotting which I cannot call period, please girls if any of you has experienced this, I just want my normal period to come back, it wasn’t light or heavy before being on the pill, it was normal flow, and I just want it back; since I have no period anymore, I feel headaches and very fainted with no strength in my body; I just want to know why my period stopped completely since I started the pill and why it hasn’t come back even now after 7 months from stopping taking the pill; I need an urgent response, what are these contraceptive pills doing to my body? Had I known, I would have never taken the pill from the beginning. In 4 days time I have an appointment with a gynecologist, I want an explanation from them.
Before taking the pills, I was just fine.

Maybe it is just the bill. When I came off the pill it took 5 months to get my periods back. And even then I was spotting each month. Like you described.

this is a personal question for girls. please help! :S?

Question by rosemaya: this is a personal question for girls. please help! :S?
hi, for the past few years i have had this weird problem. i keep getting a little cut on my vagina, the same size and in the same place. it’s almost as if it heals for a couple of weeks then just opens again of it’s own accord! it hurts a little bit (obviously) but not too majorly, my question is this… how did i get it in the first place?! im certainly not doing anything to myself to get a cut and i literally have no idea why i have it. at first i even thought i might have been date raped or something crazy just cause it flummoxed me so much, but now when it appears again i am just used to it!

does anyone have any experience of this or know what it is? im not going to do to a gynecologist cause i literally COULDNT. i know that’s stupid but im only 19 so i have a couple of years before i have to work up the courage for a smear and right now i dont have the guts.

any insight would be great! it’s not a huge issue, just a very confusing one!
the cut is on the inner labia

Is this my irregular period, advice please?

Question by ♥ =^.^= ♥ нєℓєη ♥ =^.^= ♥: Is this my irregular period, advice please?
Hello I`m 18 years old and have a problem with my period. Basically this is not my regular period and am experiencing heavy bleeding now for over 2 weeks. I have visited my local GP for a number of times now and finally she has prescribed me some contraceptive pills to what she says stop the bleeding. Since I need to order these pills, I do not know the full medical name of the pill but I know it begins with D. Anyway she says that if these pills are not effective for over 5 days then I should re-consult her and she will refer me to a gynecologist. Now she says that the gynecologist would only give me pills, but the problem is I`m not confident with pills as the others she has prescribed me did not work very effectively whatsoever.

What do you think I should do, should I have surgical treatment, or keep going on the pill?

Best answer:

use the pills first if it doesnt work then maybe u must have a surgical treatment. Just observe the result of the pills first.

HELP! Please… :-)?

Question by Paola: HELP! Please… :-) ?
Hello! I’m Italian and I’ve just moved in UK, 3 weeks ago. I’m learning how the UK Health system works but I still have some doubts. How I can get my own personal gynecologist? Of course, I mean the one I pay by myself when I need him. My doctor told me about a Sexual Health Centre in my town (sexual health care services) but it is not what I want… it seems that I can go to the SHC only when I have a health problem… what about a periodical visit (to check if everything works properly :-) ? Thanks a lot for your help!
Thank you for your advices! Really!

Concerning the thumbs down: do you think is easy to move abroad and to know everything in a couple of weeks?
@ gene_m: I’m not the one who chose to come in UK, but since I’m here… I’ve to deal with (not bad, British people are warm and friendly so far :-) . But who knows? Thank you for your answer anyway!!!

Answer by veggiekayak
I think you may have to take out a Health Plan with HSA or BUPA.

We don’t get personal consultants here, it’s just who’s there when you need one.
