paying for a dentist in the UK, are there payment plans?

Question by Michelle: paying for a dentist in the UK, are there payment plans?
I have lost a crown on one of my front teeth, the other 2 crowns are loose, and after ringing every dentist in my area- Lancaster- and still not finding a dentist. i had to resort to super glue to stick the loose crowns back in. i know stupid, but this is what the UK dentist system has come to. the thing is i have contacted a dentist who will do a free consultation, but i looked on their website and it will be £450 for a crown! i was wondering if it is possible that you can pay for this monthly instalments? dental insurance does not cover crowns, bridges or dentures. so i will have to pay. which i don’t mind but £450 in one lump sum is a lot to pay. there are no NHS dentists round here taking on new patients, so i will have to go private. by the way, why is there such a shortage of dentists these days? many thanks for any answers.
brilock- i have rang all the dentists and cannot get an NHS dentist anywhere. i work and pay my NI and tax, i don’t know why there are no NHS dentists.

Ask around all the people you know and work with a see what name comes up. Somewhere you will get a name that is trustworthy and respected.

Payment plans run by an individual dentist are not normally available to unknown patients off the street as such. Larger surgeries have finance available to patients via finance companies so it still may be worth your while to consider a bank loan or similar from elsewhere.

Do cosmetic surgery clinics usually let you pay for your procedure on a monthly payment plan?

Question by Off The Wall: Do cosmetic surgery clinics usually let you pay for your procedure on a monthly payment plan?
Or do you have to pay all the money upfront? I am particulalry curious about the Landauer Cosmetic Surgery group.

If you are going to get credit get it from a company that specialises in credit rather than a clinic, i.e a bank.
It will be much cheaper.
