I doubt anyone is attractive down there and I feel that labia minora don’t really play that much of a role is sex. What you need is your vagina and clit if they are fine you should have no problems.

18 years old but I am petrified of seeing a gynaecologist?

Question by Becca B: 18 years old but I am petrified of seeing a gynaecologist?
I have never seen one before and some people are saying I should see one now I am 18 years old. I am not sexually active and I am from the UK. (I know there are different rules where you live). I have been getting pelvic pain down to cysts which iv had for 4 months but iv never even had a pelvic exam. The caught the cysts on scan by chance. When I go to my doctor in a few days to see what to do next about the cysts what will be do? will he make me see a gynaecologist? or will he carry out a pelvic exam? I hate my body so much I can’t bare the thought of anyone seeing my body parts.

your life. doctors exist to fix damaged people. they aren,t interested in your opinion of your own body. think of them as extremely talented body repair mechanics. this is what they love to do. don,t personalize this. you need help. let them do it. i,ve been poked, prodded, had i.v. insertions, blood tests, colonoscopies, prostate reductions, etc. you get used to it very quickly. i am very healthy due to this positive attitude.,

Are you careful when you go to the gynaecologist?

Question by surdy: Are you careful when you go to the gynaecologist?
My friend was really late for her appointment with the gynaecologist and although she always made a special effort over hygiene when making such visits, this time she really had to cut corners. She grabbed the washcloth beside the sink and gave herself a hurried clean and put the cloth into the washing machine and sped off hoping not to be late– she made it just in time and was taken straight in. She knew the procedure, jumped on the table with legs apart and pretended she was in Paris or ANYWHERE. She was surprised when the doc commented that she had really made a special effort – thought nothing more about it and was just happy that her session was over.
When she got home her 6 year old daughter was in tears and cried ‘mummy, where’s my washcloth?’
She told her daughter not to worry — just get a clean one from the cupboard.

No, No, cried her daughter – I need the one I left by the sink — it had all my sparkles & glitter saved inside it !!

First visit to the gynaecologist?

Question by Becca B: First visit to the gynaecologist?
I am so nervous. Im 18 years old and not sexually active. They found 2 cysts on my right ovary and whilst I was having a scan for stomach pains and they havent disappeared after 6 months. They are getting bigger and I had a hemorrhage from one so my doctor said I need to see a gynaecologist to get it checked asap.
I am so scared. I have my appointment on thursday. What will they do? Will they have to do any exams or tests eg will they have to look down below? Or will they just talk?

Best answer:

Answer by jasmith001
They will start by looking down there. But, they will also do some tests, etc. You will talk a lot too – but from your history, you are going to be having a full exam.

Should I shave for the gynaecologist?

Question by zxcvbnm: Should I shave for the gynaecologist?
I’m planning on going to the gynaecologist in the next few days as I have an issue I need to ask her about, but I’ve never been before and I don’t know if I should shave or not. I know it sounds silly but I don’t want her to be thinking either “Gross, she’s so hairy” or “LOL, she shaved just for this”. I mean, her job is already gross enough without the added repulsion of hair, but I don’t want her thinking I’m trying to impress her.

It wouldn’t bother me so much if she was JUST a gynaecologist and she was used to seeing everything, but I’m just going to a regular GP who deals with lots of stuff and even though they do gynaecological exams, it’s not their specialty so I’m extra nervous. I mean, she’s probably expecting me to be going to see her because I have the flu or something, but instead I’ll just waltz in and ask her to look at my downstairs. It’s already going to be awkward.

I don’t even know how to shave, I’m worried I’ll get all rashy and get in-growns or something, I’ve only ever trimmed before.

Should I?

It’s totally up to you and what YOU feel comfortable with. He/she won’t treat you any different whether it’s shaved or not. :)
