Dentistry abroard….anyone recomend where to go for the best and most reasonably priced dentistry?

Question by animalwatch: Dentistry abroard….anyone recomend where to go for the best and most reasonably priced dentistry?
abroard. I have always looked after my teeth by regularly going to the dentist. Unfortunately most of my problems have been genetic, and I started getting real problems when I was forty, up until then I had a great set of teeth which people commented on.
I have now come to an age and a stage where my gums have receeded and my top bridge is looking horrible
I am now on a pension so money is really tight and I have been quoted around £8,000.00 to have a full set of upper teeth connected by implants to replace my bridges.
There is no way on earth I can afford this, and the thought of a denture that comes out is just horrific to me.
Anyone know where I can go and have this work done, at a reasonable price, I’m getting really paranoid about my teeth and it’s stopping me smiling as I used to through embarrassment. HELP.
I need a full top denture affixed by four implants not individual implants.

What is the best treatment for sciatica/trapped nerve?

Question by Craig B: What is the best treatment for sciatica/trapped nerve?
I have had a sciatica pain for over 2 months now, it is progressively got worse and in turn has turned into a trapped nerve and its excruciating pain. I worked in a call centre and I know this made this worse as i had to sit for 9 hours a day trying to go for brief walks but never worked. I have now left the call centre because of this and want to concentrate 100% in getting myself back to injury-free. The injury originally came from when I was at football training and a team-mate jumped into side of me. I have been going to see Physiotherapists all being useful but the pain is not subsiding, just wondering what you think my best option here….continue Physio as norm – exercises, regular stretching or think of chiropractor or even surgery. I need this to be fixed withing 2 months for sporting reasons – what is the timescale for this kind of injury?
Thanks for the help…it is hard to find out the best possible way to treat this as everyone is different…some ppl say no chiropractor some say do and its hard to choose. Does heat packs help much ? 2 months from now, i have the chance to play football in usa so its imperative a get this sorted asap lol

I had sciatica for 3 months and was a the point of thinking it was never going to pass. I found that strong painkillers helped a bit but physio was very helpful for me. We are all different of course but perhaps a mixture of the 2 would help you best. Good luck x

What’s the best product for stretch marks and scars?

Question by »»♥sιηвαвүgεε♥««: What’s the best product for stretch marks and scars?
I have had stretch marks for 4 years now due to my first pregnancy and has brought my confidence down a lot. Anyway I’m on my second pregnancy and feeling the itch around my stomach. So what really is the best stretch mark product? For ALL types of skin. I bought bio-oil but gave up after a while because I wasn’t seeing an improvement. I don’t expect for the stretch marks to vanish, just improve. I know I can take more drastic measures like tummy tucks, but I don’t want to. So what IS the Top Rated product for stretch marks? Also I want to get rid of some scars. I got general scars on my legs from too much scratching and cuts recently. Any home remedies to be rid of them? or products?

Thank you.

Answer by Janet W
i always used palmers cocoa butter. the thick one in the tub, not the lotion in the bottle. i got stretch marks(probably because my son was 10lb 11oz!) but that definitely helped lessen the redness and faded them. you can still get it from boots.

What’s the best way to treat lordosis (lower back pain, tilted pelvis)?

Question by .: What’s the best way to treat lordosis (lower back pain, tilted pelvis)?
I would like to try to sort out my back problem before I get older and the problem gets worse (I’m a 35yr old female). I haven’t been diagnosed with having lordosis, but it’s quite obvious to me to see and feel that my pelvis is tilted and my spine is far too curved.

I’m wondering what would be the best way to treat this.

I would like to see a chiropracter and get an xray and get assessed. The only reason I haven’t been to see one yet is because I don’t want to be going a few times a week, longterm as I can’t afford it. Does anyone have any experience of getting it treated with a chiropracter, like how long would it usually take to get my pelvis/spine back into position. I know everyone is different, but if anyone has a rough idea then it would help me.

Doing weights for stomach, back, legs – would this help in any way. Would yoga make any difference?

I don’t do any exercise, and I sit all day in work which I’d imagine doesn’t help any.

I went to my GP once as my back was really stiff at the time. If I bent over for about 10 mins (washing my hair over the bath) I found it really difficult to get back up again. Luckily my new bed has helped and I’m not so stiff anymore, but the only thing the doctor did was to give me a No for a physiotherapist. I’ve heard that there’s not really much that they can do, has anyone had any luck using them?

Do you mean scoliosis or lordosis ?
Actually whichever—- I would only see a chiropractor.

Question by dawn: help me to help my best friend?
hello, my best friend is 26yrs old and is really really over weight and has to sit down alot when we go out shopping, she complains that she so fat and doesn’t want to live anymore she has a fulltime job which she sits down all day, which is ok as she’s still got her independents. i need to help her, i haven’t got a problem with her weight (she’s my friend). she’s been on so many diets given by the doctors and she does lose weight but gets really depressed when dieting, she’s had tablets, and she’s asked for a gastric band or stomach stapled or a balloon put in her stomach but the doctors won’t refer he to the hospital, so please can anyone help me to help her, i’m worried she mite do something stupid or eat herself to death.

Best answer:

Answer by Melissa
I’m sorry to say this, but nobody can help your friend but her. She has to WANT to want to lose weight. You can help motivate her and help her see that she can change her life, but until she decides she wants to do it, nothing will happen.

The cheapest way is to jog.
Have u heard & read about one fat American who walked across the states in order to loose weight last year. He did it, he is still over-weight but not that previously fat anymore.
I’ve been jogging since my school days. To my experience, jogging is a very difficult exercise because during the first 2 minutes in the run, u wish to stop, but once u’ve complete the run, u can feel a very tremendous pride & satisfaction that u ‘ve succeeded through determination and endurance. You will float in a very serene, calm & peaceful mind when u rest.

Regular jogger can never be fat.
For your starting advice, u must jog atleast 15 minutes per run for the first mounth 3 times a week, 20 minutes per run the next month, finally regular 30 or 35 minutes run or more onwards(depends on yr capability). Do not stop during the run but allow to slow down but don’t stop, u can slow down to catch your breath but do not stop. Because during the run, your metabolism just started to warm up during the first 2 minutes, After 5 minutes, sweating started ( this depends much on weather and humidity). The longer u run , the better for your metabolism to utilise all your store-up fat to be converted to energy for jogging.
Do not follow the distance as a guide to run as in competition, it is better to use time. (some jogger will contrary use distance as guide but no time marks as finished mark ).I think either will do.
Once you have adopted this run , you must continue without any stop /letout for the rest of your life, otherwise, all the previous affort will be lost and it is very difficult to startup again to gain back your previous record and physical result.
Show me your determination if you dare to take up jogging.

best exercises for weight loss, for someone with a knee injury?

Question by Blueberries: best exercises for weight loss, for someone with a knee injury?
Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me. I have always had joint problems with no definite answer as to why. My knees have always creaked (loudly) going upstairs and I have had pain in hands and feet in the past. My dr did a blood test to check for arthritis a while back and all was normal there, the only thing they could suggest was it might be the early stages of osteo-arthritis. I started running over a year ago and got up to 8 miles a day, but due to a knee injury had to stop despite strapping it up. I was told by a physiotherapist that I have too much flexibility within my joints and this is probably the reason for my problems.

I haven’t had problems in months and two weeks ago I was running across the road (only about 10ft) and my knee went. Since then my doctor has referred me to orthopaedics, and physio, but since stopping the running I have put on around 24lbs in weight. I would like to find some exercises I could still do that would not involve any exertion on my knee joint. I can not ride an exercise bike or anything like that either, due to the pain. I just want to find a way to exercise without further damage to my knee. Any suggestions?

Answer by John Sudnik
I am sorry to hear about your pain.

Swimming sounds like your best option. You can swim laps, do water aerobics, etc. It is the safest exercise for your joints, which is why water rehab is so popular.

Good luck.

It also wouldn’t hurt to add some joint health supplements like glucosamine to your daily routine. Glucosamine helps to repair damaged cartilage, promote healthy cartilage growth, and to increase synovial fluid around the joints.
