I had a lap band 18 months ago. I was 116.5kgs and lost 20 kilos in the first six months. I was taking maxalon for a while after surgery due to prior gag reflex before surgery (have had it for years and other family members do too…when brushing teeth or thinking of something gross..I just gagged..then third gag would throw up). This had nothing to do with the lap band, and soon after surgery didnt need to take the maxalon and have never gagged since. I eat a lot of fish and chicken. If I talk too much during eating (especially if at a restaurant with friends) I forget to chew and eat slowly and then end up with a bit stuck. I rarely vomit, although when food doesnt go down do get a bit of saliva type build up that comes back. I dont miss bread or steak. I havent had any major weight loss for sometime now and just maintaining the same weight but need to get back into a bit of exercise/routine to lose some more. Hope this helps…..I dont have any regrets about having it done at all. Good luck

I haven’t but I know someone who had it after being stretched to Bu**ery after twins! She had an abdomen that resembled a walnut – very loose & wrinkly skin – very disfiguring. She had the treatment on the NHS as her situation was soooo bad. Took quite a bit of recovery though – not an operation to be undertaken lightly.

Try and get a dentist recommended to you from family and friends and then ask for an appointment to go and have a friendly chat with the dentist. My Mum was terrified of dentists, she met her dentist a couple of times before treatment just so she could see around the surgery and meet the man who was going to be doing her teeth. He was great, he talked her through everything before doing anything. Hypnosis is good, can make you feel more relaxed about going.

I did have one of those it was a long time ago though so things may have changed. I was awake during the procedure, numbed up though.
About 40 Min’s I reckon in total, I think they need feedback from the patient so I imagine you will be awake.
Just think of being able to smile again when its done.

I have a condition where the skin on my right eyelid has lost it’s elasticity. The closest we have gotten is a condition called mid-dermal elastolysis. It’s almost like an allergic reaction, as my eyelid swells when I am ill, get sunburned, if it comes into contact with sweat or with animals. I have had it since I was a few years old. I had cosmetic surgery/biopsy a year ago, so a doctor does have a sample of some skin, but it seems that because the condition is so rare the doctors either don’t have the time to deal with it or they get frustrated and give up.
So there, it’s the best I can describe it online, would appreciate any answers thanks!

I would go to the NHS but since it is for cosmetic reasons i dont think they will do it. I know there are expensive surgeries that do it but im not forking out 100′s of £ for it. Thanks

Don’t worry you’re normal 
As you grow it probably will be in better proportion. But I don’t reccomend surgery at your age! Learn to love yourself, everyone’s different and surgery is extreme and very painful afterwards. x
