Same as after any surgery – pain around the wound site, muscle soreness etc etc.

No-one needs to have breast augmentation. Save your money for something REALLY important. Like paying your bills …

Pain just under the skin of my penis during and after sex.. help?

Question by hach: Pain just under the skin of my penis during and after sex.. help?
This only recently started happening, and i couldn’t have sex ever since.. I experienced a burning sensation just as i began and when i pulled back the foreskin to take a look, i found a red, scar-like thing (quite close to the tip) which seemed to be the origin of the pain.. It has been 5 days since it began, and the scar/scratch doesn’t seem to show any signs of healing.. Any idea what could be done about this? I always use condoms, and have stuck to the same brand for about 10 months now..

Do i need to see a doctor about this, and if yes, what kind of doctor? As in, a gynecologist or…?

Thanks!
I read somewhere that if i put some sort of antiseptic cream it will become better. Any suggestions?

Implanon Implant after misscarriage?

Question by K K: Implanon Implant after misscarriage?
I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage on April 28th. I was 18 weeks gone so had 2 D+C’s. My first menstrual period came on June 1st and lasted 6 days. I was told my the obstetrician and gynaecologist that i could not start back on any type of hormonal birth control until after my 1st period. I have made an appointment to see my doc on monday to get the implanon implant fitted. Just wondering what some people thought of this and whether they had any side effects? I had the mirena coil for 2 years, on which i bled continuously so i am hoping that this option will suit me better, I have been told that it can cause a lot of spotting within the first few months but that things should then settle down. Would you recommend it?
if not what would you suggest?

Answer by Elisha Rocks <3
me and my bestmate both got the implanon on the same day after a couple of friends had it and recommended it…

well i recently got the implanon taken out in may after just a year.

i only had 2 periods while i had it in. one in august that lasted nearly 2 weeks and it was so painful that i had to take 3 days off work. the second one was in november and also lasted 2 weeks.

i also put on 3stone in weight within a year. i was always hungry. and i tried several different diets and increased my exersize everyday and the weight still didnt budge… it made me very upset as ive never been so big.

so from that i wouldnt recommend it. since its been taken out ive lost 8lbs really easily….

my bestfriend had constant periods for the first 6 months so she got it removed b4 me.
she also thinks she got slightly depressed from it.

but other friends who have had it havent had any problems so it does work for some people

sex after hysterectomy?

Question by kelly: sex after hysterectomy?
I had an hysterectomy 9 weeks ago, but docs left my ovaries, so i won’t go through the change. I was told we could resume gentle sex after about 6 weeks, but to air the side of caution, we waited till 8 weeks post operatively. But afterwards I bled, and had period like cramps, which scared the hell out of my husband, as he thought he’d hurt me. It wasn’t a lot of blood, but enough to have to wear a pad. I’m due to have a follow-up with the gynaecologist soon, but was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else? Serious answers only please. Thanks :-)

Don’t wait for the followup, call you gynecologist as soon as you can. Hopefully it is minor or nothing, but don’t take a chance.

Gums still swollen after antibiotic?

Question by ashlyn P: Gums still swollen after antibiotic?
So about two weeks ago I went to the dentist (after 6 years of not going) and found out I have early periodontal disease. I was put on antibiotics and given a medicated mouthwash. I was told to brush and floss two times a day and do the mouthwash two times a day along with taking the antibiotic three times a day. Also to use a tongue scrapper.I have been doing this regularly. After a week of this routine I went back to the dentist and they said things were looking better and to keep doing what I was doing. Well now the second week is almost over and i don’t see any change. I still feel like the gums around my front teeth are swollen and separated from the teeth. They are definitely more pink now and less red and are not bleeding anymore so I guess thats good but I am still worried. Should I be doing more to help my gums?

I would go back to the dentist right now but I am going on vacation and won’t be able to until I get back (I made an appointment for the day after i get back)

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Is it normal to have minor pain and discomfort 4 weeks after an arthroscopy?

Question by Dory: Is it normal to have minor pain and discomfort 4 weeks after an arthroscopy?
I had keyhole surgery on my knee on the 8th of November. I had investigative surgery and some of my cartilage trimmed. I was given a 2 week sick note, but was told that if I needed an extra week I was to go to my GP and get a note for a 3rd week off. By the end of the second week I was still in pain and getting swelling. So my GP wrote me a sick note for another week. By the end of the third week I didn’t need to take pain killers anymore and I went back to work this week.

I am managing alright at work, but I’m getting minor pain and discomfort in the joint. I have a dull ache around the joint and every now and then I get a shooting pain starting from the knee and then goes down the leg. By the end of the day I feel stiff and very uncomfortable and I start limping, but when I get home and rest for a few hours the pain subsides. My job involves being on my feet for most of the day, but my colleges are very good and let me do some admin work if I start to get too uncomfortable.

I work in a hospital and I asked some physiotherapists about lingering pain. They said it depends on what has been done, but two weeks for instigative surgery is normal recovery time.

I just feel like a bit of a wimp and I should get on with things. But at the same time I worry that something might be wrong. Before I make an appointment with my doctor, I would like to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience. I don’t want to waste my doctor’s time.

Answer by Geoff,
I had this operation done 15 years ago, I went back to work after 2 weeks off as I was self employed.
I was in a lot of pain for over two months, mainly because my job as an engineer involved being on my feet all day and also up and down alot of stairs. If you have a job where you are sat at a desk, the pain will settle down alot quicker. I also used ‘DEEP FREEZE’ cold gel and applied it to my knee to ease the pain, This is available from all High Street Chemists like Lloyds Pharmacy.
I eventually had to have that knee replaced two years ago at the age of 56.
Try the Deep Freeze Gel, it’s brilliant.

What will happen to my stomach after I lose weight?

Question by Charlie and Robert: What will happen to my stomach after I lose weight?
I currently weight 214lbs and considered obese, and I am in the process of losing weight to get to 140lbs which is perfect for me.

Now, the question I have is what will happen with the loose skin? I’ve lost weight in the past and had lots of loose skin, but I was slimmer then… now I’m the size I am now, I’m worried that when I get to my desired size and weight, I’ll have so much loose skin that I’ll become depressed about it.

My question is, can toning alone combat this problem? I’m doing intensive exercise already for an hour each day but if I spend some time specifically toning my stomach muscles, will that make sure I won’t have all this loose skin?
Or
Is it a case of I can’t do anything about loose skin and if I want to get rid of it, I have to have a tummy tuck?

Please help!!

Answer by dancer4life2277
Your skin is very elastic and while I don’t know why or how it happens, it some how manages to shrink back to normal when you lose weight (see: pregnant women and what happens afterwards with enough exercise!) Unfortunately, I don’t think all of the skin will be toned, I think you’ll have a little loose skin but I don’t think it will be excessive. Regardless of how much loose skin you end up with though, think of the years you’ll be adding onto your life and the lack of health problems you’ll have to endure once you’ve lost all that weight! Keep up the good work! :)

excess skin after ceserian?

Question by Kerstin F: excess skin after ceserian?
hi, i have excess skin on my belly after having a ceserian 3 years ago, i have done all sorts of sports to try an flatten it, i even lost lots of weight but its still there, i thought of a tummy tuck but i cant afford that, what other options are there? It really is just under my belly button that area and above the ceserian scar, and you can see it, it is really destroying after having a 6 pack belly to excess skin i dont know what else i can do, my partner says it looks fine and im being paranoid as its not as bad as i make it out to be, but it really bugs me, i know its hard to get back the way i was before, but there must be something i can do to at least get help
do you know how?
Weightloss and sport have been done and dont seem to work…

Sadly only a tummy tuck will work…I have had 2 c sections and know what you are talking about…my tum was my best feature before…it has stretched and no amount of excersise will fix it…but I did hear that skin cream for tightening/toning skin does work some…..try that and add baby oil to your beauty routine.
